Among these plants, you will find there are some that help with air purification, some with odours, while some help you calm down. On the flip side, some these plants might not be suited for your home if you have children or pets at home. For example, the English Ivy is an excellent facilitator of sleep, but it is also poisonous. On the other hand, there are plants that need a lot of care to survive indoors. It is better to have a mix of plants with different uses to benefit the most from them.   1. Aloe Vera

We all know the uncountable ways in which aloe vera is good for our skin, hair as well as digestion. The lesser known fact is that it does wonders to your sleep too. It is one of the rare plants that exhale oxygen at night and hence, facilitates sleep. It is especially useful for those suffering from sleep conditions such as sleep apnea.

What’s more, it acts as an indicator of toxins in the room. When the level of harmful chemicals goes high, the leaves of this plant start developing brown spots alarming you of the situation.

Requiring practically no maintenance at all, aloe vera is a resilient plant that can cope with missed waterings. Also called the mother-in-law’s tongue, this is another oxygen-emitting plant. It eradicates some common but dangerous household toxins – formaldehyde, trichloroethylene and benzene and improves the quality of air in the room. Popularly known as Money Plant, Golden Pothos is also a brilliant air purifier. It is also called the Devil’s Vine or Devil’s Ivy because it is nearly impossible to kill.
